Most of the time when you need to update your computer’s security settings, you’ll definitely need to restart your computer, whether you’re using a Windows or Mac computer.
With iOS 16, iPadOS and Mac Ventura software updates coming soon, Apple has introduced the Rapid Security Response feature that allows Apple to release security updates more frequently, faster and more easily, especially for users.
Typically, security updates for Apple devices will only arrive via “major” updates such as 15.1, 15.2 and so on. With Rapid Security Response, users can receive these security updates without having to wait for an operating system version update.
In fact, it has also been shown that some of these security updates do not need to restart their devices, allowing them to continue with their work when those devices receive these updates.
