Twitter Wants to Make Similar Features on Google

Twitter is apparently working on a new feature called Search Subscribe that lets users select tweet notifications that match their search query.

Reported by us from The Verge, this feature was first discovered by application developer Dylan Roussel which he later shared on his Twitter account. Through his tweet he revealed this feature will place a notification bell icon next to his search box on Twitter.

The Search Subscribe feature is similar to Google Alerts, but on Twitter it allows a lot of advanced filtering to get notifications that are more appropriate and relevant to the user.

This feature is considered interesting and is Twitter's effort to make it easier for users to find things that users are actually looking for.

Also, given Twitter's tendency to be full of tweets and updates, the fewer notifications users search for, the better their notifications will be.

Testing this feature only appears on the Alpha version of the Twitter application. However, this feature is also not necessarily going to actually be launched by Twitter. Unfortunately, Twitter has not yet provided a response to testing the feature.
