WhatsApp Reactions Can Now Use All Emoji, Here's How

WhatsApp recently released an emoji reactions feature that allows users to provide reactions in the form of emojis to messages received. Not to stop there, WhatsApp is now launching its latest version that supports all emojis.

WABetaInfo reports that the new version of the emoji reactions feature is already available for WhatsApp beta testers. This feature is already available in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.22.15.6, version 2.22.15.7, and WhatsApp beta for iOS version 22.14.0.71, as quoted from WABetaInfo, Saturday (2/7/2022).

When the emoji reactions feature was first launched, WhatsApp only provided six emoji options, namely heart emoji, thumbs up, laughing while crying, surprised, crying, and sorry/thank you emoji.

With the latest version of the emoji reactions feature, the emoji options offered are not limited to these six options and WhatsApp users can use all currently available emoji.

How to use the emoji reactions feature of the new version in WhatsApp is still the same as the previous version. There is only one extra step to access the entire collection of emoji. Here are the steps:

Make sure you have joined the WhatsApp beta tester

Open the WhatsApp application and select one of the chats, both individual and group

Press and hold one of the messages in the chat, either sent or received

You will see a bar containing six emojis that can be pressed directly. To access more emojis, tap the plus icon at the far right

Select one of the collections of emojis on the keyboard to send a reaction

Keep in mind that this feature is only available to WhatsApp users who have joined the beta tester and is not yet available to all users. If you're a beta tester and haven't found this feature, don't worry because WhatsApp will roll it out to more users in the coming weeks.

For WhatsApp users who have not joined as a beta tester there is no need to worry. WhatsApp will launch this feature in a stable version for Android and iOS users in the near future.
