Diligent in making folding screen phones, this is Samsung's mission

 


As a vendor who is diligent in releasing foldable or foldable smartphones, Samsung now has a big mission to popularize folding screen phones.

Samsung first introduced a new foldable since 2019 which then continues every year. The latest, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 5G and Fold 4 5G add to the foldable line made by the manufacturer from the Ginseng country.


As stated by SEIN's Product Marketing Manager for Samsung Mobile Experience, Verry Octavianus, that Samsung wants this foldable model to be the main device used by mobile phone users.


"We are trying to make foldbale more mainstream, how and we fight for prices that are acceptable to consumers," said Verry in New York, United States.


Talking about the target market of this foldable smartphone, Samsung is expanding its target by targeting young people aka Gen Z.



"Age is more for Gen Z from 13 years old or those who use cellphones for the first time to 45 years for Flip. If Fold is more mature, around 20 years to 40 years," he said.


To achieve this target, Samsung set a lower price than the previous generation Flip and Fold with improved technology and features.


"We want foldables to become mainstream. What is becoming a future phone, yes, is folding. We are improving the fourth generation for foldables on the Flip 4 and Fold 4," he said.


In addition, Samsung also did not raise the Flip 4 and Fold 2 compared to its previous smartphones, namely the Flip 3 and Fold 3.


"One of them is the right price, matching the segment makes the price more mainstream, more affordable," he concluded.
