Spotify believed that podcasts would become popular a few years ago and their gamble paid off with them hosting Joe Rogan's show which has the highest number of streamers in the world. But since integrating podcasts into the app, the front end of the app has become a bit grainy.
Today Spotify announced a new front-screen interface that separates music from podcasts. There is a tab at the top that allows users to choose to only listen to music and another tab for podcasts. This way the process of finding new content, album recommendations and playlist recommendations for music and podcasts can be seen without confusing users.
The new interface will be rolling out to Android app users first today, with iOS apps receiving it at an unannounced date.
