The UK has now announced that they are targeting the introduction of self-driving vehicles on the roads by 2025.
Today, various companies and countries are testing self-driving vehicles, but have yet to allow them to be officially used on the road in full.
The UK wants to be the first to allow self-driving cars to be used on the road, at the same time taking an opportunity for the automotive industry that is now in the public eye.
The UK is expected to offer self-driving vehicle support in stages, starting with private transport as early as 2024, followed by delivery vehicles and public transport thereafter.
At the same time, the UK also stipulates that the manufacturing company will be responsible for the actions of self-driving vehicles, rather than the driver behind the vehicle.
