The smart television market is growing. This is also no stranger to TV boxes and dongles that are increasingly being sold, both those still with Android TV or the more recent version of Google TV. I realize that the TV box and dongle market has been booming since Google introduced their Chromecast with Google TV dongle.
Last January, it was heard that Google might come with another Chromecast with Google TV but an affordable version.
It is said to be an HD version with streaming limited to 1080p only. Since it already supports AV1 codec the streaming quality will probably be good. The chip is said to be AMlogic S805X2 with 2GB RAM memory, and the expected selling price is around €40 (~RM180). The launch of this product is said to be getting closer and those who intend to have it may be able to look forward to the launch event later.
The dongle is sold at such an affordable price that even the more seasoned TiVo is scared off. This Google dongle is considered premium due to its software support, build as well as support for Chromecast features built in and 4K content streaming.
