Apple Ends Offering SIM Cards In Their Cellular iPad Tablets

For some previously launched iPad models, especially versions with cellular network support, Apple has provided a physical SIM card for use in some countries and also selected telecommunications companies.

Recently, Apple has confirmed that starting October 1st, they will no longer include a SIM card for all their iPad offerings that previously received it. There are iPad Pro offerings where the SIM card is installed directly in the device before.

According to Apple, those who purchased a cellular version of the iPad device after that date will need to contact their own carrier to see how they can activate the connection on their tablet.

This is not surprising especially when we saw earlier that the iPhone 14 offering in the United States no longer comes with a physical SIM slot and is replaced by an eSIM.
