Netflix's basic plan in Malaysia now supports streaming at 720p resolution for RM35 per month. The plan has no device limits, meaning subscribers can access Netflix on any device that supports the video streaming app.
Different from the basic plan with ads which is currently not offered in Malaysia. This plan, is a little strange because it is not accessible on all platforms. Netflix states that this plan cannot be used on PlayStation 3, any Apple TV device and for broadcast via Chromecast it can only be done via Chromecast with Google TV.
Other platforms such as smartphones, smart televisions, Android/Google TV, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox and others have no problem accessing this feature. In the United States, the basic plan with ads needs to be subscribed monthly at a price of $6.99 which is around RM33. This is roughly the price in Malaysia for a basic 720p plan – so we should be thankful that Netflix doesn't display ads and restrict access on certain platforms.
