Samsung has now announced their latest achievement, enabling data transmission at a distance of 10 kilometers using 5G mmWave technology.
This new record is the longest distance achieved for the use of 5G mmWave FWA 28GHz technology that has been recorded by Samsung to date.
At this distance of 10 kilometers, Samsung managed to achieve a download speed of 1.75Gbps, and an upload speed of 61.5Mbps. Samsung managed it through the use of eight transmitter components (8CC) covering the 800MHz mmWave spectrum.
At its peak, Samsung managed to record a transfer rate of 2.8Gbps at a distance of 10 kilometers.
With this achievement, it also demonstrates the capabilities of Samsung's equipment, in addition to showing that 5G mmWave can be used at long distances and in high-density areas.
