Last Friday, thousands of Twitter employees were fired in a mass email. Based on some western media reports, the majority of those removed are from security, human rights, sales, content moderation and application quality control.
Less than a week later, some of the dismissed staff are now being asked to return to the office after their expertise is needed to continue site operations according to a Bloomberg report. Several dozen of these employees are needed to develop the features requested by Elon Musk. There are also reports that they are among those who have been fired by accident.
The Elon Musk era did not start well with him blaming reduced advertising as the reason why staff had to be laid off. He also recently realized Twitter was losing $4 million a day in operating costs.
