Since being taken over by ole Elon Musk, many changes will be made. The biggest change apart from a reduction in workforce of up to 50% is generating income immediately. Among those that have been confirmed is Twitter Blue with identity verification and paid video. Recently according to a New York Times report, Twitter may also introduce paid DM.
Elon asked staff to think of ideas to generate income immediately. Among the proposals is paid DM where users can send messages to prominent users on Twitter such as celebrities. Fans of actors for example can send paid DMs to get answers that might not normally go unanswered. Profits from this system will be shared between celebrities and Twitter. It's like Cameo but in DM version.
Twitter needs to generate higher income under Elon Musk because of the high interest payments the billionaire has to pay to the bank. The paid video feature that wants to be provided is seen as a platform like OnlyFans. Elon also wants Vine to be revived to provide the same features as TikTok.
