Cinemas in Malaysia are often upgraded to offer visitors a satisfying viewing experience. For example, at TGV there is IMAX, at GSC there is Onyx for OLED screens, some offer THX audio systems and some also have Dolby Atmos.
Latest from GSC, they will offer a new cinema hall with IMAX. In Malaysia, the most IMAX theaters are TGV while GSC is limited to The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey only. More interestingly, this GSC theater is not a normal IMAX but the first IMAX with Laser in Malaysia.
IMAX with Laser uses a laser beam projector that promises brighter, more beautiful, realistic screen quality and regardless of dark or over-bright scenes – all details are well preserved and can be enjoyed by visitors. IMAX projectors with lasers also allow 3D movies to be displayed more brightly even with dimmed 3D glasses.
For now, GSC only mentions the presence of IMAX with Laser in Malaysia without any details. But according to our sources it will be in Putrajaya and will be launched specifically for the screening of Avatar the Way of Water in IMAX 3D format.
