It seems that Huawei will soon launch a smartwatch with a unique design. The smartwatch, called Huawei Watch Buds, is designed to store a pair of TWS in it.
Interestingly, this is not just a concept or product that is still under development. Huawei has shared the Watch Buds teaser video on Weibo and even revealed the launch date.
As the name implies, Huawei Watch Buds are smart watches that have a secret room for storing TWS. The watch is round in shape with a glossy case and a leather strap, much like the Huawei Watch GT series.
But the watch has a secret button that, when pressed, opens a storage room containing a pair of TWS. The design of the earbuds themselves doesn't look much like the TWS devices that Huawei has released before.
From the hands-on video uploaded by the YouTube channel QSQTechnology, it can be seen that the earbuds are attached to the top of the watch using magnets. At the bottom there are two holes for TWS so they can be stored tightly.
The specifications for the watch and TWS are not yet known, but it seems that Huawei will insert a large battery to power the watch and earbuds simultaneously. This smartwatch will run the HarmonyOS operating system, as quoted from The Verge, Sunday (4/12/2022).
This concept does look weird but maybe it will be useful for some people. For example, for users who like sports who don't want to bother carrying TWS and their case while exercising.
In the teaser video uploaded on Weibo, Huawei is supposed to launch Huawei Watch Buds and several other devices on December 2, 2022.
But the launch was postponed until an unspecified time. Huawei did not reveal the reason for the delay, but it may be related to the death of former Chinese President and former General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Jiang Zemin on November 30.
It is not yet known when Huawei will launch Watch Buds in China after this delay. Whether this unique product will be launched outside of China is still a mystery.
