Most device manufacturers in recent times have come up with their own object trackers. Samsung with Galaxy SmartTag, Apple with AirTag or Huawei with S-Tag. These products are released so that device manufacturers can take advantage of the UWB feature in their devices and also add products in their respective ecosystems.
Recently, Google is reported to be present with its own object tracking product under the code name Grogu. The product is also codenamed Groguaudio, suggesting it will also support audio when successfully tracked by a device. Sources say Grogu was developed by the same team that developed Nest products and this object tracker will also come in a variety of color options – perhaps like Chromecast with Google TV.
Last year, Google was also reported to be including code to warn users if an unknown device is directly affected in Android. This means that Google's object tracker will also have a feature similar to Apple's AirTag to prevent irresponsible users from stalking others.
