Manchester United's power seems to be eroding. After being held to a draw by Crystal Palace in the previous match, now the Red Devils were defeated by Arsenal.
Playing at the Emirates Stadium, Sunday (22/1/2023), Marcus Rashford had opened MU's advantage through a goal that was created in the 17th minute. But Arsenal were level seven minutes later through Eddie Nketiah's header.
A goal from Bukayo Saka brought Arsenal a 2-1 lead. But MU managed to reply through a goal by Lisandro Marinez.
Arsenal were finally able to close the game with a 3-2 win thanks to Nketiah's second goal. An additional three points made the Gunners firmly at the top of the standings with 50 points from 19 matches, while MU is in 4th place with 39 points from 20 matches.
Many believe Casemiro's absence in the match that saw MU beat Arsenal. Apart from that, Rashford was considered to be playing selfishly because he was stingy in passing the ball. Here's the summary:
"It's cool to play arsenal, salute, this season the performance is extraordinary, compact, it's really worth losing to MU, because it's true that Arteta has been training longer than tenhag, who just finished the season, and added that MU has just played against Palace, whose schedule has suddenly changed, added Casemiro Gamain," said @opangramadhita.
"MU didn't have many opportunities, only the finishing was good. MU's weak point seems to be in the middle, maybe because of the effect of Casemiro's absence, so MU's defense is easily penetrated from the middle. The defenders and goalkeepers are actually quite solid," said @wenrohaloho.
"The absence of Casemiro has really affected the hole in Emyu's midfield," said @Nurpadilah_.
"MU is crazy, even without Casemiro they are still fighting hard. Arsenal are fighting hard. If you have played a big match classic, it's more mental. Fortunately, Arsenal's youth have improved mentally," said @MacGooner2
"This time, ETH was wrong, Casemiro's absence clearly had a big effect. In front of MU defenders, no one cut at all. And Trossard, it's a really good signing!! If Mudryk can be even crazier, Arsenal I think," @meidiawancs.
"Rashford 7.5/10 is really good, but it's too much for the individual skills even though there is a bigger chance if you believe in passing to strikers," said @gagahgs
"Rashford is really stingy, doesn't want to pass to Weghorst !!!! Ten hag, it's been a long time dropping Garnacho. Emyu should be able to bring 3 points in this match," said @anakygke1.
