Touch n Go Does Not Support TNG Payment Features Due to Conflicting Use of NFC Chips for PayWave

 

Touch n Go today officially introduced their prepaid card which is linked to TNG eWallet balance – a result of collaboration with VISA. However, one of the things that may upset many is because this VISA card is separate from the existing TNG card offering.

This is due to the limitation of using the NFC chip on the card. TNG says the NFC chip for PayWave technology and also the NFC chip for TNG are contradictory and cannot operate the same.

For now, due to technological constraints, it does not support normal TNG payment included on the card.

TNG has previously said it was aiming to integrate both chips in the card – but technological constraints made it impossible for now.
