A few days ago, Tweetbot and a number of other third-party Twitter applications were found to be having problems being accessed. To this day this problem has not been resolved, causing many users who depend on applications such as Flamingo, Fenix, Talon and many more to be unable to use them due to login issues.
Twitter has not given any reasons why this issue occurs, but as a user who is familiar with Twitter's third-party applications – this issue is usually a problem related to the Twitter API. Now, The Information revealed that Twitter deliberately blocked Tweetbot and a number of other third-party applications from accessing their API.
Talon for Twitter
The source claims to have received this information through Slack, where there is a statement from Twitter approving the blocking of access to the API. For now, I still don't know what will happen to these applications. A few years ago, more or less the same issue occurred where Twitter changed their API so that applications such as Tweetbot and others could not receive notifications and lost access to other features until API v2 was introduced.
Does this mean there will be a new API, or Twitter will be exclusive and no more APIs to third party apps?
