Twitter has introduced the "For You" tab, where tweets are displayed randomly based on user usage patterns. What Twitter deems appropriate for a user will be displayed, even if the account is not followed.
When it was introduced two weeks ago, it was limited to iOS users and was only later distributed to web and Android users. The display of tweets not in chronological order is quite annoying, because the tweets displayed are not the latest ones.
Recently, Twitter revealed a "way" to set the default display for users. If before, the star-like icon can be pressed to choose between For You, a non-chronological timeline display or Latest random display. Now with the star icon removed Twitter will remember the last time a user used it. Users just need to make sure before Twitter closes – the favorite tab is the last tab the user opens. Through this, every time Twitter is reopened it will display that tab by default.
For now, this feature is limited to Twitter users on the web and will only be rolled out to iOS and Android in the future. What do you think of this feature?
