Increasingly Selling, Google Pixel Will Be Released Frequently

Alphabet announced its fourth quarter 2022 financial reports. On this occasion, the CEO, Sundar Pichai, commented that Google Pixel devices are experiencing a period of great momentum.

The company reported revenue of USD 76 billion, an increase of 1% over the same period in 2021 of USD 75.3 billion. With an operating income of USD 18.16 billion and a net profit of USD 13.62 billion, this figure increased from USD 20.64 billion last year. In comparison, Alphabet reported $69.1 billion in revenue and $13.91 billion in net profit in the last quarter.

The company doesn't split hardware sales, but includes it as a share of "other" revenue with Play Store and YouTube non-advertising (subscriptions) revenue. Google reported $8.79 billion in revenue for Q4 2022 compared to $8.16 billion in the same quarter last year.

During the earnings call, Pichai said the Pixel 6, 7, and 7 Pro were "the best-selling next-generation phones we've launched, and we're gaining share in every market we operated this year."

Currently, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are expanding their sales to Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. This is the first market expansion in recent years, now the phones made by Google are available in 17 countries.

Not satisfied until there, Pichai ensured that his party would go further, they would focus more and more on Pixel devices. Google will invest even more in hardware and software. Because this is what differentiates Pixel from its competitors.

"This is what allows us to invest and drive innovation forward. You have to put everything together as a product and ship it. I think that ends up playing a very, very big role in guiding the ecosystem as well," Pichai said as quoted by 9to5Google.
