Meta May Continue Their Smart Watch Project

You may not know that the company behind Facebook, Meta had plans to release a smartwatch - but it was cancelled. The watch is said to have a camera and motion sensor for metacity use (probably with the Meta Quest), as well as support for Spotify, Instagram, WhatsApp apps and have eSIM support.

Now, Kuba Wojciechowski who is famous for many leaked information related to Android products claims that Meta will continue the development of their smartwatch. The design is said to be more or less the same as the prototype from the canceled project.

The Meta watch will run a modified Android operating system instead of Wear OS, and may also be powered by a Qualcomm chip. Based on new leaked images, the watch is seen to have a camera on the screen bezel, a side with two physical buttons, an optical pulse scan sensor and a pogo pin for magnetic charging. The body also looks a little flat.

No other information was shared, but the last watch project dubbed Milan should be launched this year with an estimated price of $349 which is around RM1,489. Let's wait for more information about this watch.
