Naver Offers Alternative To ChatGPT For Customers Worried About American Interference

The United States is the richest country in the world and like the rules of earthly life, whoever has money has power. So the U.S. uses their power to direct the direction of the world and interfere in the affairs of other countries. The irony here is that when their affairs are mixed up, they will take punitive action preventing access to proprietary technology. Naver, the South Korean technology giant announced yesterday that they want to offer artificial intelligence (AI) to countries that are worried about US interference in the world of AI.

AI that is personalized according to the needs of customers in Arab countries who are seen as sensitive by companies from the U.S. and also countries that do not speak English. Many may have begun to realize that the majority of AI with the existing LLM model only supports English at this time, thus limiting access to the people of the earth who do not understand it.

Naver also targets customers who refuse to have their data shared with the United States for certain reasons. This is one of the issues regarding the use of ChatGPT as personal data is shared with the company. As a result, Samsung and Apple banned the use of ChatGPT (as well as other AI chatbot applications) among employees to prevent company secrets from being leaked. In the case of Samsung leaked again.

Naver's answer to ChatGPT is HyperClova X which uses local data and supports Korean. Samsung became Naver's first customer with personalized AI for use only by their staff. At the same time, Naver got Samsung's help to develop its own AI chip that freed them from relying on chips produced by other companies such as NVIDIA.
