Last year Blackmagic Design launched Blackmagic Camera for iPhone. It is a professional camera application with 4K ProRes video recording support that can be synced with Blackmagic Cloud for easy transfer of media files directly to DaVinci Resolve. In the future, an application for Android will be introduced.
Blackmagic did not reveal any information on when this camera application for Android will be launched other than to say that it will arrive at some point in the future. On the iPhone version they claim the recording quality using the app is as if using a real Blackmagic camera. It can also change the recording mode to different frame rates, support audio level monitoring, lens control, white balance, aspect ratio, focus control and more.
Blackmagic Camera was developed to make it easy for users to shoot YouTube or TikTok videos with Hollywood-like color and processing quality. Most interestingly, such as the iPhone application for Android will also be offered for free.
