Play Store Now Has a Feature to Ask Others to Pay for App Purchases

Good apps in the store are usually paid versions. No ads and has extra features not in the free version. But not everyone can afford paid apps for certain reasons. Now Google Play Store has introduced a new feature that allows users to ask others to pay for apps they want to buy.

Through this feature, there is an "Ask someone else to pay" button in addition to the option to pay using Play Store credit, Play Store code and card payment. When the button is pressed there is another button to share the payment link which can then be sent to other individuals through messaging applications.

This individual can then choose to make the payment on behalf of the applicant. Each link in the message will only be usable within 24 hours. At this point this third party payment feature is only activated in India first.

Previously, Google only allowed payment for purchases made by the head of a Family Group to buy apps on behalf of a child or anyone in the family. The application is then shared by all Family Group members. This new feature allows users to ask anyone to make a payment without having to join a Family Group.
