At the Mobile World Congress 2025, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission has introduced an internet network testing application called MCMC Nexus.
This application is seen to not only test the user's data transmission and reception rates, but also how it works with a large number of popular and frequently used internet applications.
The application, which is currently in the beta testing phase, comes with four network tests, including a network speed test, a data experience test, a route survey test that allows you to upload your own scripts to test the strength of the network signal and an in-building survey to test the performance of the internet network in a building.
More interestingly, this application will show when your device's connection changes substations and when your connection changes from 5G to 4G and vice versa. The MCMC Nexus application can be used not only by their own staff to test the quality of the local network, but also by the public to see if their network is operating as it should.
We are told that the test results will be sent directly to MCMC and the telecommunications companies directly to enable them to assess and improve their network quality at a faster rate.
You can download the MCMC Nexus (Beta) app on the Google Play Store now. An iOS version is currently under development, and the full version of the app will be introduced by the middle of this year.
