Apple Reportedly Collaborating With Anthropic to Develop AI-Powered Xcode

Apple is now reportedly collaborating with Anthropic to develop artificial intelligence-based generation support in Xcode. With this move, programmers who use Xcode on Apple's platform can use AI support in generating code, writing, editing, and testing the code.

This move will also simplify the process of developing an application or web using Xcode. Apple is said to be testing this internally, and it is not known whether it will offer this version to public users or otherwise. The Claude Sonnet model is said to be used to facilitate the programming process through Xcode.

As many are aware, recently, artificial intelligence-based programming platforms have been gaining more attention. Among the popular platforms is Cursor, while OpenAI is also said to be in talks to take over Windsurf. Microsoft is also not left behind through their GitHub CoPilot offering.

Apple has recently been seen focusing more efforts on artificial intelligence integration, after various features they announced last year were delayed. Apart from Siri experiencing delays in AI integration, Apple also announced Swift Assist which was integrated into Xcode in 2024, however, it has not been offered to the public until now.
