Neuralink Implant Helps Patients Edit Videos and Speak Again Through Their Minds

Previously, we reported on two patients who have used Neuralink implants to help them regain a part of their lives, where they can play chess and computer games using only their brains.

Most recently, Neuralink’s BCI (Brain Computer Interface) implant has been successfully implanted into the brain of a third patient, Bradford Smith, who suffers from ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclero) which has left him not only paralyzed, but also unable to speak.

ALS sufferers still retain many other brain functions, and because of this, Bradford Smith was selected to receive the Neuralink implant, and has now successfully performed several activities that were previously considered impossible due to ALS.

First, he can now speak again with the help of artificial intelligence. His voice recordings were successfully processed using AI technology from many of his videos before he suffered from ALS, and are now being used to speak fluently through input generated by his brain via the Neuralink implant.

Not only that, Bradford Smith has also managed to edit and upload a video that also features his “AI voice,” using only his brain and Neuralink implants. The video talks about how Neuralink has helped him in his daily life.

In short, Neuralink can be connected to a laptop using a Bluetooth connection, which then allows Smith to control the input on his laptop using only his mind. The movement of the mouse on the laptop screen is based on tongue movements, which are reportedly easier for him to do than finger movements.
