Trump's tariffs will now also be imposed on foreign films imported into the United States. In a post on his Truth Social account this morning, President Donald Trump said a 100% tariff will be imposed on foreign films because they are said to threaten the US film industry.
Other countries have been accused of providing incentives for films produced outside Hollywood for propaganda purposes and this makes them a threat to national security. Trump said he will authorize relevant US government agencies such as the Department of Commerce to immediately begin the process of imposing 100% tariffs on foreign films.
This is yet another new war started by the United States without any good reason. It may have a greater impact on Hollywood, which has been exporting films for generations while the foreign films imported each year are much smaller.
