Sonos and IKEA's Eight-Year Partnership Ends

Sonos, the leading audio equipment manufacturer, and IKEA, the Swedish furniture manufacturer, have collaborated for eight years to develop audio hardware that blends seamlessly with IKEA furniture, and is called the IKEA Symfonisk.

Symfonisk has shown off a variety of interesting audio products, combining home furniture designs with speakers that blur the line between furniture and audio devices.

However, it seems that the collaboration between the two companies is coming to an end, as Sonos has confirmed to The Verge that the Symfonisk audio brand will no longer be coming out with any new furniture.

Any stock of Symfonisk audio products sold so far has been discontinued, and once they are all sold out, they will no longer be manufactured. Sonos also said that Symfonisk will no longer be making new products, but will ensure that their existing products will remain updated with the latest driver and security software.

This may not come as a surprise, as earlier this year, Sonos itself canceled the development of a number of new products that were supposed to be launched this year.
