In line with the ASEAN Summit, OpenAI is now sharing some interesting data regarding the usage of their artificial intelligence services in the Southeast Asian region. According to OpenAI, they have 500 million weekly active users worldwide, and 2 million paid business users.
Not only that, the region also shows that ChatGPT usage is increasing day by day. Vietnam and Thailand are seen leading this arena with an increase in usage of more than 700% compared to a year ago.
Malaysia ranks third with an increase in usage of 330% compared to a year ago. As for Indonesia, it is emphasized that the market is among the five markets with the highest number of weekly users in the world.
In the Southeast Asian region, ChatGPT is seen to be used more for teaching and learning, writing, editing, and also translation. Users aged 18 to 34 are also seen to be very active in using it, showing that the integration of artificial intelligence will become more important among businesses in the future.
