Google Wallet Ends PayPal Integration for US Users

Google Wallet is a very simple digital payment method, where you can use your smart device to make payments whether online or in physical stores. You only need to link your debit or credit card details if the card bank supports payments through Google Wallet, and you are ready to use it.

Google Wallet's link to the PayPal digital wallet service has been introduced for several years, where it was previously supported in the United States and Germany. But Google recently announced that support for PayPal links to Google Wallet will be terminated for US users starting June 13, 2025.

Google also said that PayPal accounts can no longer be linked to Google Wallet since April 11, 2025, but accounts that have already linked their accounts can continue to use them until the said period expires.

However, Google also confirmed that those who use PayPal-branded debit cards can still continue to link their cards to Google Wallet.

For now, neither Google nor PayPal has released a statement on why support will be terminated, and even more strangely, why it only affects users in the United States. PayPal users in Germany can still continue to link their accounts to Google Wallet for digital payments and use their smart devices without any problems.
