Windows 11 Settings Search Feature With AI Agent Now Starting to Be Tested

Not everyone has expertise in the features included in an operating system. Often the Settings menu needs to be coded deeply before the settings you want to change can be found. Realizing this has been an issue that has been going on for years, Microsoft introduced an AI agent that will allow questions to be asked using ordinary language.

The Settings search feature, which better understands the context of the questions asked by users, was announced in October last year. This week it was finally given to Windows 11 Insider users with Copilot+ PCs equipped with Snapdragon chips first for testing. Microsoft said the feature will be given to Copilot+ PCs with Intel and AMD chips in the near future. At this point, this AI agent can also only be used if the computer's primary language is set to English only.

Through this feature, questions such as "change text size" or "how to change mouse sensitivity" can be entered into the Windows 11 search box and the menu to change it in Settings will be displayed. This is a useful feature for those who are less knowledgeable about the ins and outs of PCs. The same feature already exists on smartphones such as Samsung's One UI 7 based on Android 15.
