One of the advantages that is often highlighted for electric cars is automatic updates and optimization of the operating system, without the need for vehicle owners to take their cars to a service center. Just like computers or smartphones, cars can now be updated as long as they are connected to the internet. Proton e.MAS 7 also has this function and today PRO-NET has announced a number of updates that bring various updates and functions that users have been waiting for.
For Apple iPhone users, you can now tether your iPhone to launch the Apple CarPlay function, and access all the functions provided both wirelessly and via a wired connection. This function is an important function that is often a question for prospective vehicle owners and with this ability, users can launch applications such as Waze, Apple Music, Apple Maps and many more. The Android Auto tethering function is expected to be available by the fourth quarter of this year.
Other applications have also been added directly, including IZI Travel, Vivaldi Browser and the Zoom for Cars teleconferencing application. Among other functions that have also been updated is the sound that is played when the Proton e.MAS 7 is moving slowly to ensure the safety of pedestrians who may not be aware of the electric car nearby. If previously there was only one sound provided, this time there are Galactic Note and Space Walk sound options and users are free to choose from these three sound options.
Next, there is also a 'Tonneau cover' offer for the new version and existing e.MAS 7 owners will receive it for free. For interior finishes, there is now a special Alabaster White finish option for the Proton e.MAS 7 in Quartz Rose and Turqoise Green. There is also now an Obsidian Black model offer for the Prime and Premium versions.
This update will be given to e.MAS 7 owners in stages starting July 21, 2025 and so far more than 4,000 units have been sold. Perhaps this number will double soon when they will also offer the more affordable Proton e.MAS 5, as well as a CKD local assembly version for all e.MAS models.
