The world is currently facing two major issues. First of all, the addiction to using smartphones all the time and the dependence on artificial intelligence (AI) to do daily tasks. There are already issues of students not writing papers, failing exams and the future being a joke because their jobs are taken by AI.
In a world that is increasingly similar to dystopia, Mark Zuckerberg still believes that AI will make your life better. In a quote shared early this morning, Zuckerberg said that personal superintelligence is getting closer to becoming a reality.
According to him, superintelligence is AI that knows users deeply, understands goals and can help users achieve them. In other words, personal superintelligence is artificial general intelligence (AGI) for daily use.
Through superintelligence such as that being developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs, humans in the future will use smart glasses as their main computer for daily use. It can understand what is being looked at, seen and the voice commands given by the user.
Zuckerberg wants to sell the idea of personal superintelligence and smart glasses to all of us because he is the one selling it. After dominating almost every major social media platform, he now wants to sell us a super optimistic vision of the future of AI.
The reality is that super personal intelligence is useless if humans lose their jobs, a data center the size of Manhattan would need to supply water to 30,000 homes a day, and power resources are so vast that nuclear power plants would have to be built. Forgive me if I am more cynical than optimistic and refuse to accept the Facebook owner's statement at face value.
