Mark Zuckerberg is ready to focus on the artificial intelligence arena so as not to be left behind compared to others. However, recently, they have faced challenges in offering the desired quality through Llama 4, which has made Mark Zuckerberg actively seek talents and offer high salaries to join Meta.
In parallel, Meta is now restructuring their artificial intelligence division, dividing it into 4 parts, namely one for research and development, one for the development of powerful artificial intelligence or AGI, one focusing on the development of AI-based products, and another focusing on infrastructure development.
Not only that, through the NYT report, it is said that Meta has also considered using third-party artificial intelligence models. This includes using other open source models and integrating them in development, or also licensing models from other artificial intelligence firms.
Some rumors also say that Meta is considering developing their new model in a closed form, rather than open source as before, to ensure that they continue to lead the arena.
Meta AI itself was previously promised to be offered to Malaysian users at the end of last year, but until now Meta has not yet offered it to local users - meaning we still cannot use its integration on Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, or through the separate Meta AI application.
