Samsung Confirms It Will Integrate Multiple AI Models Starting with Galaxy S26

We previously reported that there were rumors that Samsung will integrate multiple artificial intelligence (AI) models on its devices in addition to Gemini and Galaxy AI. Now in an interview with Bloomberg, Samsung's president of mobile experience, Won-Joon Choi, confirmed that the company is in talks with several AI companies.

The integration of AI virtual assistants into the Samsung ecosystem will be done through the Galaxy S26 series that will be launched early next year. Choi declined to reveal the identities of the virtual assistants and AI agents that will be integrated into this flagship device. He simply stated that all supported models will need to be competitive and provide a good experience for users.

Since the introduction of powerful NPUs on Android flagship chips, we have seen AI models such as Llama, Gemini and ChatGPT integrated into devices. Some run directly from the device and some are also online. If Samsung allows owners to choose the AI model they want to use, it would be a smart move because they can change it according to their needs.

Samsung's strategy is also believed to be adopted by Apple, which is facing difficulties developing Apple Intelligence, with new features being delayed to 2026. With key staff poached by Meta and large investments needed, integrating ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity may be a less headache-inducing move for Tim Cook.
