Apple iPhone Air Introduced to Replace the “Plus” Family – Thin and Light Design, Single Camera, Starting at RM4999

This year, Apple ended the iPhone Plus family, and now in its place, Apple has come up with a new series called the iPhone Air. As its name suggests, it comes from the MacBook Air family, the iPhone Air also focuses on its thin and light design.

Apple says the iPhone Air is the thinnest iPhone model ever produced. It comes with a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR screen with ProMotion support up to 120Hz, powered by the Apple A19 Pro chip, as well as the N1 wireless networking chip for WiFi 7 support, and Bluetooth.

The Apple iPhone Air is said to offer all-day battery life. Completing this thin and light smartphone is a 48-megapixel main rear camera, and an 18-megapixel selfie camera.

In terms of thickness, the iPhone Air is 5.6mm thick, and is said to use a titanium-based frame for a strong and durable build. The iPhone Air also includes an Action Button and Camera Control on the side – like other iPhone series.

In addition, the iPhone Air comes with an eSIM-only design, and does not include a space for a physical SIM.

In Malaysia, the iPhone Air is offered at a starting price of RM4999 for the 256GB storage model, and also comes with a larger storage size. Malaysian users can pre-order the iPhone Air starting September 12, and get it starting September 19, 2025.
