Apple Reportedly Testing ChatGPT-Like Apps to Experiment with New Siri Features

In 2024, Apple showcased Apple Intelligence, in addition to promising various new features that would be coming to Siri. However, a year later, it did not arrive, and even the artificial intelligence development department at Apple itself was seen to be lagging behind other competitors.

In an effort to overcome this, Apple has made a number of changes and restructuring. Most recently, it was reported that Apple has developed an application inspired by ChatGPT, in an effort to test new Siri capabilities through it.

This application focuses on internal use only, and is said to not be introduced to public users. It is known as “Veritas”. Using it, Apple employees can test various new Siri capabilities more quickly, including searching personal data stored on the phone such as emails and messages, as well as various other related features.

In addition to experimenting with new features for Siri, Apple is also said to be gathering feedback on whether the chatbot format should be integrated and introduced, or vice versa.

Along with this app, Apple is also experimenting with various other things involving artificial intelligence. With a year to go, Apple aims to introduce various things focused on artificial intelligence, including a new generation of Siri by 2026.
