The Canon EOS C50 is a new model in the Cinema EOS series designed specifically for professional filming. This cinema camera comes in a compact, lightweight and user-friendly design.
The EOS C50 is equipped with a 32MP full-frame CMOS sensor that supports RAW video recording at 7K/60P resolution. The camera also supports 4K/120P and 2K/180P recording making it suitable for fast-action filming contexts. Support for the Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus system is also provided to ensure more accurate subject tracking.
The EOS C50 supports various recording formats such as Cinema RAW Light 12-bit, Canon Log 2, Canon Log 3, XF-AVC S and XF-HEVC S to give users freedom in the editing process. It also uses an RF mount and can be matched with EF or PL lenses via a special adapter. Audio connections are also made easier via two XLR inputs, a timecode terminal, HDMI, USB-C and a multi-function socket.
The camera is equipped with two card slots, CF express Type B and SD, which allow recording in different formats to be done simultaneously. Additional features such as simultaneous crop recording and timecode support also make the EOS C50 an attractive choice for modern filmmaking contexts.
