The United States has previously issued an order to ByteDance, namely to sell TikTok's operations in the United States or the service will be blocked from accessing it in the country. The order was supposed to be enforced since the beginning of this year, but President Donald Trump has extended the date for its enforcement several times.
After several previous extensions, the deadline set for TikTok is September 17, 2025. Although it is only about two days away, according to various expectations, Donald Trump is expected to extend the date again.
Previously, Donald Trump has stated several times that he has a potential buyer for TikTok in the United States, but until now the matter has not been stated. Meanwhile, ByteDance has not issued any comments, including whether it is open to selling it or not.
It is not known how many more times Donald Trump will extend the period for TikTok. With the previous extensions, many see this as not being serious to enforce. TikTok itself was previously reported to be ready to develop a separate application for the United States market.
