Keluar Sekejap is a popular podcast that discusses various issues and current affairs, led by former ministers, Khairy Jamaluddin and Shahril Hamdan. The first podcast was published on March 1, 2023, and it has now been operating consistently for more than 2 years.
Since its introduction, Keluar Sekejap has expanded their brand to cover several different topics, in addition to forming a new digital media brand in collaboration with Catcha Digital, called KS Lagi. Previously, Keluar Sekejap had also begun the process of acquiring a sports-focused podcast, Jugador TV. However, its current status is unknown at the time of writing.
Now, most recently, Keluar Sekejap has also added a new shareholder, Capitha. The amount of investment received by Keluar Sekejap is not disclosed at this time, but from a review, it is seen that Capitha took a 20% stake in Keluar Sekejap Sdn Bhd.
Capitha is co-owned by Khailee Ng, who also leads a Global 500 investment firm in the region, and has previously founded several brands, including Groupsmore (which was acquired by Groupon) and SAYS which was acquired by Media Prima.
Keluar Sekejap itself throughout 2024 has recorded 200 million total views throughout the year, and interestingly for this year alone, Khairy Jamaluddin shared that the podcast has recorded a total of 270 million views across various platforms that broadcast the podcast. The Keluar Sekejap podcast generates its main income through advertising and sponsorship of podcast episode broadcasts.

Moving forward on his own, Khairy shared that he aims to continue expanding the Keluar Sekejap site to cover various other topics. One of the series that inspired him was the UK-based series The Rest is Politics, which also has several parallel brands, such as The Rest is History focusing on history, and The Rest is Money focusing on finance. Podsiar Keluar Sekejap has also begun experimenting with various new hosts instead of the two main hosts, in an effort to continue expanding the brand, and not rely too much on the main hosts KJ & SH.
At the KL PodFest event held at the end of the weekend, a number of interesting things and developments were shared regarding the podcasting arena in Malaysia, including data showing that 40% of Malaysians listen to podcasts, and 60% of them are interested in it in video format via YouTube.
