U Mobile has fully activated its ULTRA5G network at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur. This makes the hotel one of the first in Malaysia to have next-generation 5G coverage on every floor and space.
This rollout was made possible through a partnership with EDOTCO, which provides an in-building coverage (IBC) system to ensure stable internet connectivity throughout the premises. The launch also follows U Mobile’s successful expansion of its ULTRA5G network to key locations such as Berjaya Times Square, Penang Bridge 1, Putrajaya and Kota Kinabalu.
According to U Mobile, customers who subscribe to their plans can enjoy the ULTRA5G network throughout the hotel including halls, meeting rooms, event spaces and public areas. This high-speed connection is specially designed to meet the needs of tourists and corporate users with the assurance of a stable and smooth internet experience at all times.
The partnership between U Mobile and EDOTCO is part of the ULTRA5G network expansion initiative to high-impact locations nationwide. Both companies plan to expand this coverage to airports, hospitals and convention centers, with a target of reaching 80% coverage of populated areas by the second half of 2026.
