Discord Reports Users' Personal Details Have Been Hacked Through Third-Party Services

Discord, a leading gaming communication platform, recently issued a statement saying that their users' personal data has been hacked and some details have been stolen, but that users' accounts are still safe.

The hack was not caused by the Discord platform itself, but by a third-party customer service platform that usually answers various questions and concerns by users of the platform or has submitted tickets to resolve problems related to their Discord accounts.

According to several reports, the details that were hacked and stolen include the full name, email address, IP address, the last four digits of the user's debit/credit card and the user ID name. Messaging details between users and customer service were also compromised, but messaging between users is still safe.

Discord said that the hacking incident occurred on September 20, and that they have disconnected user data from the customer service company and are working with authorities to ensure that no other sensitive details were hacked by users.

Discord also said that they have sent a notice to all their users who were affected by this hack.

As a precautionary measure, users are also advised to change their Discord account passwords to ensure that their accounts remain secure.
