The DJI Osmo Mobile 8 smartphone gimbal was announced today with 360-degree motion support and an extendable neck for taking videos or photos like a selfie stick. In addition to the ability to stabilize the camera for recording on 3 axes, it also now has a DJI OM motion detection lighting system and sensor.
Through this sensor, the gimbal can automatically follow the movement of the subject without the need for a human operator. Through the DJI Mimo application, the gimbal can recognize gestures to start video recording, take photos and change the focus of the frame before recording begins.
Because it is a DJI product, it is compatible with the DJI Mic 3, Mic Mini and Mic microphones that have already been marketed. Smartphones can be attached to the Osmo Mobile 8 using a grip mount or a magnetic mount that supports the Apple MagSafe system. The included battery allows the gimbal to be used for 10 hours and it can also be used as a powerbank for smartphones.
In China, the DJI Osmo Mobile 8 is priced starting at RMB 898 (~RM 532) for a complete set. The price in Malaysia has not yet been announced.
