The Melaka State Government is now introducing a digital grave system as an initiative to improve cemetery management. This step is intended to facilitate the numbering process. It can also help future generations identify and visit the graves of their family members more systematically.
According to an official statement, Kampung Pulau in Masjid Tanah has been identified as a pilot location for the implementation of this project which is also planned to be expanded to the entire state in stages.
Through the method used, each grave can be marked and recorded digitally and in detail, thus facilitating management and search in the future.
This step is also expected to overcome the issue of losing track of the graves of heirs due to lack of documentation or physical changes in the cemetery area.
Indirectly, it also contributes to increasing the efficiency of cemetery management in the state of Melaka.
