Qualcomm has introduced the new Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip designed specifically for affordable and budget smartphones.
This chip is built using 4nm technology and is equipped with eight CPU cores consisting of four performance cores up to 2.4GHz and four energy-efficient cores reaching 1.8GHz. According to Qualcomm, this offering is able to improve CPU performance by up to 36%, and GPU performance by up to 59% compared to the previous generation.
This chip is also equipped with Variable Rate Shading (VRS) software features to improve graphics display efficiency, as well as Game Quick Touch which works to reduce input lag during gameplay. In addition, it supports the use of high-speed LPDDR5 memory up to 3200MHz for smoother performance.
Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 supports camera sensors up to 200MP and video recording in 2K resolution. It is also equipped with Multi-Frame Noise Reduction (MFNR) technology which helps produce clearer and more detailed images in low-light conditions.
In addition, this chip supports high frame rate content on a 144 Hz FHD+ display. In addition, it supports the 5G Release 16 standard, Wi-Fi 6E technology with download speeds of up to 2.9Gbps, and Bluetooth 5.4 for more stable connections. So far, Qualcomm has not yet confirmed the device manufacturer or official offering of the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip in the market.
