Nike Produces Project Amplify Robotic Shoes for Faster Running

Good sportsmanship can help athletes break world records. In fact, the Nike Alphafly shoes were banned from sporting events because the iron plate on the sole was seen as slipping through mechanical doping. Despite their shoes being banned, Nike has now produced Project Amplify, a robotic shoe that allows wearers to run faster.

It is attached to the calf and provides assistance while running. Nike says Project Amplify is like a pair of extra calf muscles that give them the power to move faster. It was not developed for professional sprinting athletes but for those who want to run faster. Data from 400 athletes collected over several years is used by Project Amplify.

With Project Amplify, wearers can run 1 mile in 10-12 minutes. This project is still ongoing and will continue to be developed by Nike before being offered to the public in the future.
