Huawei MatePad Edge Tablet Officially Launched in China

Huawei introduced the MatePad Edge in China as its answer to Microsoft's Surface devices through a design that is said to be able to replace laptops while offering the advantages of portability.

The MatePad Edge is equipped with a 14.2-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3:2 aspect ratio and a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits. The aluminum frame that is only 6.85mm thick makes it light, while the hinge that can be adjusted up to 175 degrees allows the display angle to be set according to the user's comfort.

The MatePad Edge comes with a Kirin X90 or Kirin X90A chip paired with 16/32GB RAM and up to 2TB of internal storage. In addition, the option of a liquid cooling system with dual vapor chambers is also offered, while the HarmonyOS 5 operating system also provides full support for desktop applications.

The tablet is equipped with a 12,900mAh battery with 140W fast charging support while a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide and 32MP front camera are also provided. Additionally, M‑Pencil Pro support along with six speakers, four microphones and a wireless keyboard complete the package.

The MatePad Edge comes in Space Gray and Bright Moon Silver with prices starting at CNY 5,999 (~RM3,499) for the base version while the top-end model reaches CNY 12,999 (~RM7,582). So far, it has only been launched in China with no global announcement.
