Apple's next device could be a smart pin like the Humane AI Pin, according to a report by The Information. It is believed to be moon-shaped and thin with a body made of aluminum and glass. There are two cameras, one wide-angle and one ultra-wide to record photos and videos. If development goes well, Apple's smart pin will be launched in 2027.
Three microphones are also included so that it can listen to voice commands given by the user. It looks like an AirTag, only slightly thicker. This is the first time Apple is rumored to be developing a smart pin. Other reports previously said that the focus was on developing smart glasses, which caused the more affordable Vision Pro to be delayed.
So far, no artificial intelligence (AI) hardware has been successful in gaining public acceptance. The AI Pin failed and had to be sold to HP. The Rabbit R1 is silent to this day with no plans to launch new products.
Only OpenAI is actively developing their first AI hardware with the help of Jony Ive. Sam Altman says it will free owners from having to look at the smartphone screen all the time by being controlled entirely by voice.
