Disney+ has now stated that they will add support for vertical video formats to their platform this year, further increasing the usage and viewing rates on their streaming platform. Apart from content, the addition of this feature is also expected to lead to an increase in advertising.
The addition of this format is also expected to allow them to experiment with various variations of content on the platform, in addition to allowing users to enjoy more short content easily.
This shift to the vertical content format is said to be in line with the demand from Gen Z and Gen Alpha who want short content, and do not spend a lot of time watching long-duration content.
Previously, it was also shared that Disney will allow users to generate video content powered by artificial intelligence using Disney characters, and share it on Disney+.
